When my footsteps finally came to a stop at the end of the journey, I truly understood that this was not simply a 120-kilometer trekking adventure, but a journey of self-discovery—a spiritual conversation with myself.
The wind of Nepal was cold, yet incredibly pure and honest. Every step from Everest Base Camp (EBC) to Gokyo Lake took me deeper into the silence and grandeur of the Himalayas. Breathing became difficult, and every step grew heavier, yet somehow, my heart became clearer. Those moments when I could barely catch my breath were the very moments that brought me closest to the most fundamental rhythm of life.
The greatest blessing along the way was having a Chinese-speaking guide, Pasang Sherpa (Xiaolong), together with three porters. They were not simply people who showed us the way; they became our guardians in the high mountains. Moving back and forth along the trail, they constantly looked after our safety. Whether adjusting our pace, taking care of our physical condition, or simply offering a small word of encouragement, their care and companionship brought warmth, trust, and a sense of security to this journey of mutual support and friendship.
The blue of Gokyo Lake was the kind of blue that makes you instinctively fall silent. The snow of EBC was the kind of white that inspires awe and respect. Standing there and looking toward the endless mountain ranges, I suddenly realized how small we humans truly are—and yet, perhaps it is precisely because of our smallness that our courage becomes even more meaningful.
This 120-kilometer journey was never just about distance. It was about the accumulation of countless moments in the heart.
